There is little doubt that heading out on a ski holiday has an effect on the environment. At Momentum Snowsports we’ve decided to take some simple steps to help limit our impact on the mountain environment that we enjoy each winter.

Being more environmentally responsible doesn’t have to be hard work; it’s often just about making good choices. For example we’ve chosen to use Patagonia ski gear as this company has a great environmental policy and much of their equipment is made from recycled materials. We’ve also chosen to use the Co-operative bank which has a well established ethical and environmental policy.

Our largest environmental effort has been to join an organisation called 1% For the Planet. By doing this we have pledged to donate 1% of our turnover to environmental charities. We believe this is a small price to pay in order to help look after the spectacular mountains that lie at the heart of our winter snowsports.

While these things might not solve the problem, they help to raise awareness and encourage us to look for more solutions.
